what battery?

my car has been sitting up for quite a while now and the battery is well dead im looking for a replacement and i have no idea what is suitable for it, my brother suggested odyssey batteries? car is 98 sti

Any big brand battery will do... Varta, Bosch etc... The key thing is the CCA (cold cranking ampere) which needs to be in the region of 500-540.

Some lads on here have had good results with halfords own brand but as mentioned go for one with the highest CCA.
