Hi Lads and Ladies,

Getting the finger out and after 3 long yrs Im going to grt the old Legacy back on the road, so have to do da old pain in the arse NCT and a few Jobs to be done inc Timing belt, lookin to buy a Gates T/B kit, Question is it the same kit as a wrx? or different for some reason :ponder2:?

No man the belt alone on that link . The kit as in tensioners and pulleys etc are mad money here, didnt think it was 700, think I priced the kit in a motorfactors at €500 when I was collecting the bits for my engine

Ian... If your'e doing the belt and have it all stripped... I'd advice replacing the tensioners,pulleys and guides at the same time even if they are pricey.

The wagon I bought a while back had a fresh belt put in it prior to me buying it... but idiot mechanic left old pulleys and tnesioners on it from the previous belt and the bearings where starting to collapse which had damaged the new belt. I ended up having to put a new belt and all tensioners/pulleys etc into her soon after I bought it.

It's false economy do do it any other way. Just my 2 cents. :thumbsup:
 
Yea going to get the kit not just the belt, dont want to be going near it for another 50 - 60 thousand :icon_biggrin:
