CEL & Standard airbox

3. Model shape (classic, wagon)
6. Model Origin (irl model)

So the cel comes on ever so often so had it checked out at the local dealer. Pulled up maf sensor. Was told it could be the induction kit fitted which is a cheap looking jobbie that someone fitted previously. Looking for standard airbox to rule it out. The subaru mechanic also said that the inlet manifold gaskets could be leaking which is throwing out the readings. Would like to try the airbox first befor replacing gaskets. Can anyone think of any other ideas??

who is your subaru mechanic?

if inlet manifold gaskets were leaking be 3k high revd and
you would know all about it.

i would think it is possible for maf sensor itself.

but again on a forum its always guess work.

Afm are a common enough issue, so id say its that rather than inlet gaskets, if you are drawing air under inlet you will have eratic idle or high idle.
Crap induction kits, oily filters, are a known killer of AFMs, but they do give up the ghost even with standard airbox.. just not as often :)
