oil pressure

hi lads,
i have a Defi oil pressure gauge fitted to my car,
just wondering what it should be reading?
Its a 99 Impreza type R

mine is flickering between 5.9-6.2 bar when idle

i think the guage are sender might be faulty

what would normally cause it to give wrong readings?

That could be at cold idle Chris.

Let her heat up and see

ill take it for a spin after work tomorrow and see when it heats up properly

is it normal for it to flicker tho?

the needle is never steady unless i put my leg on the accelerator :ponder:
 
Yes as above. Was quoting warm idle.

Were have you plumbed in for to read pressure?

Is it genuine defi sensor.

i bought all the gauges second hand im sure they are genuine all marked defi and connected up through a defi controller.

ill double check what it is reading when warm this evening when home

dont think i ever saw it down that low tho, if it doesn't go under 6 bar is it most likely a faulty gauge?

started the car from clod this evening and was reading 8 bar

let it warm up and it was just flickering between 5 - 5.5 bar when idle, went down a bit more when fan cut in

what could be causing it to be this high?

its a original subaru oil pump

kinda thought it was the gauge alright think ill get a new sender next and see if that helps

does anyone know were i can get a defi sender? :thumbsup:
