question about b4

was readin on a forum some were think octane tat after ever mod on a subaru it needs a map is this true with b4's????
so if an induction kit was putin id need a map????
 
I would say yes but I would say that for every car as adding an induction kit affects the airflow, and therefore the a/f ratio. In saying that, I've seen plenty of lads put on induction kits and have no problems.

If you decat the downpipe, then you definitely need a map as you will get boost spikes.

A map would be worthwhile anyway as it will transform the performance of the car.
 
okok i think the b4 has filter in it.i gettin b4 on wednesday. so if it has would i b best takin it out till i can afford remap??
 
I would personally take it out if it hasn't been mapped for it. Put the standard airbox back in with a good panel filter and remove the resonator from the inner wing if its not already removed.

ok thanks dave so put standard filter back in and leave till can afford remap tat will do
