JDM engine-UK impreza help

hey new on here and a new wrx owner but have researched alot about them

i had a bottom end rattle on high rev so i was hopeing i could replace the shells and dat would fix it but wen i got the engine split i found scratching on the crank so by the time i get the crank ground and everything else it would be the price of an engine an even after the rebild it coyuld blow again as im told from my mate who rebuilt 2

so wat i want to know is if i can get my hands on a JDM engine(long block) from aa earlyer model will it fit my loom mounts gearbox in my 00 uk spec wrx?

need to change the heads to your own and then everything ill fit afaik. Try to get a short block from a newage sti if going the second hand route, much more reliable than the classics.

wat is the diffrence between my heads and the jdm heads?

how much could i pick a short block up for?
