Lads,
My 00-reg Legacy is coming up for 100k miles and my suspension seems to going AWOL at the moment, probably not helped by driving a bit too fast on some god-awful roads around these parts...
It started a few months ago with a tinkling in the back end that proved to be a loose drop arm link, but the weekend before last the front N/S started feeling weak. I finally got my local garage to hoist it up and take a look yesterday and they reckon the shock has gone soft so that the spring has broken, and that they'll need to replace the front springs & shocks both sides, as well as replacing the two drop arm links at the back.
They rang me today to say that they could only get the parts by going to a main dealer (which they didn't want to do) and that they'd cost around 1,200yoyos (+ labour!) and (fair play to them!) could I get them cheaper somewhere?
So what's the story, what would you do? Where would you go to get the parts, or would I be better off taking the car to a specialist somewhere?
Cheers!
