Removing electric window motor

The drivers side window motor has died on me. Have one from my old car but i havent a clue how to get it out. There seems to be no room to access the innards of the door from the few holes on the inner part of the door. Is it a matter of removing the glass first and if it is, is that a hard job?

Or should I just bring my car and the spare door to someone who knows what they're doing!! Keeping cost down would be ideal though

Cheers

Glass isn't hard to remove-thats what the holes are there for. Let the window down til nuts holding the bottom of the glass are in line with the holes and work from there.

Cheers Sean. Do ya think I'lll have access to the motor from the top of the door with the glass and rubber bit removed? :ponder:

No. That inner panel is welded to the doorskin at the top as far as I remember. I can pull my own door card off sat and better advise if you want.

Yup. The inner panel is spot welded to the outer bit so access is severely limited. If its not too much hassle, that'd be great.
