Seen this wire hangine from under the car so traced it into the engine and it was connected to the loom but im guessing the should be a sensor or something on the other end?

It's for the flux capacitor.

id say something to do with cat temperature or general exhaust temps....
is it a jap import???

Nah... flux capacitor is much heavier cable. I reckon it's off the Turbo Boost button...
