fault code P0031

i have the engine light on in the car, its showing up on the diagnostics as "P00031 heater control circuit low bank 1 sensor 1". i got hold of a second hand lambda sensor but it hasnt put out the light, could there be something wrong with the replacement lambda or is there a problem somewhere else along the line??

car is an 03 sti type uk
 
no joy, the car was put on a computer but the light still comes on. does this mean i need a new lambda sensor or can anything else be done??
