opel vectra prpblem!!

hi my friend has a 03 vectra 1.8 petrol.there is a warning light coming on when you start it,its a steering wheel wit an ! mark,car starts and then cuts off straight away?anyone know what this could be,he brought it to local garage and couldnt find any problems they said to bring it to opel dealer and would probly cost over a 1000euro to fix,anyone any ideas what the problem might be??

steering wheel symbol sounds like the elec steering mite have a problem startin and cutting out could be a no of things fuel pump coil pack dodgy immobiliser

If you look at your heading.. Opel Vectra then ad 2003 and finally ad 1.8 petrol to the equation.. Thats the source of his problems.

Excellent Diagnosis Ken ,

best cure for said problem , take 1 can of petrol ,
take 1 Match or a lighter
Pour petrol over offending vehicle and ignite ,

Guarantee the light wont show on the dash anymore ,,,,,,,,,,,,,

lol i have just had enough of opels this week , her corsa dumped a litre of oil on the drive yesterday , stupid oil pressure sensor seal
