best place to fit fuel pressure regulator

going to fit a jdm fuel pressure regulator with gauge
where is the best place to fit them on a classic impreza with a new age top mount fitted
should i bolt it on to something or just leave it free and just connected to hoses

i have mine bolted to the strut tower on the side of the turbo for the last year and half and had no probs with it since.
