Defi temp gauge flickering like mad!

Ive got 3 defi guages in the centre on top of the dash.
The temp one just started flickering mad this evening.

Anyone ever see this before?
Is there separate sensors in the engine bay linked to the temp gauges?

Any ideas lads please :thumbsup:
 
Controller is at my left knee,side of centre console.
I haven't checked it out properly yet but I checked all connections
On that controller and they are all in place. :dontknow:
 
Could be a crossed/frayed wire somewhere between sensor and controller. Check any area where wires can be moving. The connections at the sensor is the most likely problem if the wires at controller are ok.
 
check the wires wher they run through the firewall....
my controller is in the same place and had same prob few months back....a small gauge wire had broken even though the insulation was still intact right at the block connector...
have good look around!!!
