Crawford Oil/Air Separator

Very expensive piece of equipment. Can't say I'd be willing to spend that much on an oil catch can, just because it has a pipe to feed the oil back by itself. I'd say save yourself $350 and pour the oil back into the sump yourself.

i wouldnt be a big fan of re using the oil,
Either would I but this one keeps out the condensation that can mix and turn milky in most catch cans

A return to sump aspect is perfectly fine. As it happens all condensation is burnt off so not as if you put a half litre of water into the sump as dilution of ratio is perfectly safe.

That good to know, What do you reckon about these Dave, I was thinking of modifying my own catch tank to do the same job as the crawford

The catch can you have is very small and doesn't look overly impressive. A bigger catch can without return to sump will also work fine once emptied properly.

I know that alright :hjtwofinger:
I just woulnt be one for opening a bonnet to empty the thing thats why I think I would benifit from the return

Well empty every time you dip for oil would be ok no?
:ponder2: No

In my honest opinion nobody should have to do that with a road car

Well sump off and weld return pipe on so. Really should have been done with sump off/ engine build then ask this question now?

A oil catch can manually emptied is perfectly acceptable to the normal lay folk below.....................

The return goes to the central crankcase breather on the crawford so no need to go near the sump. Never thought it would be an issue thats why I'm asking the question now "Is anybody using one?"

No need a your current vf35 set up.
What do you mean sorry?

The vf35 set up currently imo has no need to need a oil catch can as factory set up copes perfectly well.

Its nothing to do with the turbo setup i dont think,Its how much oil is ending up in the intercooler piping from tthe breathers thats annoying me

Ok well in total off boost driving during a run in period, and as said fully off boost i'm not quite sure how you are ending in up with a worrying amount of oil in your intercooler pipes.

And i see your oil catch can has no drain plug, not quite sure why you still continued to fit this system...

AND I'M TRYING TO RECTIFY THAT PROBLEM. . .

I'd rather have no oil in the intercooler pipes Dave
