Hunting Idle

Hi Folks the car is still hunting idle when in tickover I replaced the MAF and have no check engine light on or fault code stored, any ideas as to where to look now many thanks John L.

Did you reset the ECU after replacing MAF? And is it a phase 2 car (99/00)? Most likely a duff Lambda sensor too, and if the lambda has been gone for a long while, then your idle control assembly could also need a good clean (extreme, but I have seen a few like this).

Where are you based? I have DeltaDash so could connect if it is a phase 2 onwards. I'm in Dublin, Southside.

Yeah disconnected battery for 40 min and Lamba changet bout 3 years ago and its a B4 2004 Legacy cheers.

Not sure how long you need to disconnect battery (I use a laptop to reset) - maybe try disconnecting overnight first to be sure? Is the car modified? I have known lambda sensors to fail after a couple of years, especially if not an OE item.
