well boys back again lookin for help, jus wondering if any1 wud no if a coilpack was f**kd wud putting new leads in make a difference. last time i got leads for the car it ran alright for a while then only got worse, covered the leads 2day with insulation tape and its runnin OK again.. wud the coilpack cause this do ye tink?? cheers again!

My coil pack is broken at the moment.
have to wait till monday to order one. Hopefully get it same day though.
I diagnosed my coil pack by firstly changing plugs which didnt sort problem then 1 by 1 removing leads from coil pack while engine running.
I dont really advise this because you get a pretty bad shock which can burn yuor finger tip, but if you get no spark jump from the pack to the lead(or finger) when you remove lead from pack then you've found faulty pack

After the first shock i tried my Knipex insulated electricians pliers and think i got a worse shock.
They only cover you for 1000v and im guessing the coil puts out tens of thousands of volts with little current therefore its not lethal.
I guess a big pair of rubber gloves is worth a shot
