Hey folks I was in Dublin today and got back to Kilbeggan and pulled up in drive and turned of motor and left turbo timer to do its job and then the car started to rev up and down as if its was gasping for air so I gave it a quick rev and it stopped now I did take out K&N filter out yesterday and cleaned it with an air gun do you think that may have caused the problem many thanks John L. PS She was fine all day many thanks.

Hunting like that is usually Maf if i'm not mistaken. Has your car still got a maf?

Yes as far as I know is this big money or can you do it second hand and if not where can I get one thanks John L

have you put this special oil on the K&N filter?

Well using the airgun on K&N filter is not the best idea. :naughty: You could destroy the microfiber on it. K&N should be cleaned with some special cleaner and then oiled. without the oil it won't work properly.
some say the oil used with K&N filter may affect the MAF.. but its pretty much urban legend and there was an official statement on K&N website about it.

Just don't overdo when oiling the filter and should be grand.

I'd clean the MAF with some PCB cleaner (just spray on it without touching it)
