Squeaking/creaking noise from front suspension

there is a squeaking/creaking noise coming from what it seems front passenger side while driving over say speed bumps etc. sounds like wet rubber rubbing over metal any ideas? sway bar's bushings?
 
Likely to be ball joint. Get under the car and put up/down pressure on the ball joint-if theres any play its f*%ked
 
would not say so- there is no thuding and the car is "tight". will have it seen anyway, but seems to me like a bushing on sway bar- hopefuly all it needs will be a bit of grease.
is "forester sti dan" still around? he seemed to know this car inside out.
