couple of months ago big end started knocking in car 99 jap wrx standard so i just replaced engine with second hand one have serviced it and minded since only 3000km up and i nearly sure i can hear faint rattle starting again i could be paranoid from last time do these just go or is there anything else i can do to make sure they dont
 
Is it only coming into it around 2500k revs and not in it on tick over?

yea i think so its very faint cant hear it at all when driving only when you rev it while parked

big end bearing lad mine jus came into it all of a sudden bang on 2500 revs hear it knock perfect on thick over and cold start up jus a split sec it would be there and gone again had get a rebild
 
starting to think it on top engine now would it be tappets ? ger it happened me already and it not as loud at all
 
Its hard to distunguish on as Boxer engine whether its heads or block due to they are side by side, head noise will be tappy, like an old fiesta
