Crankshaft (Sorted)

KudzSTi

Petrolheads
pulled the crankshaft pulley off along with the timing belt cover, woodruff key and crank pulley were fecked
i notice the sprocket on the end of the crankshaft (behind the crank pulley) looks fecked too[pictured]

anyone know if this just pops off or is it part of the crankshaft

Re: Crankshaft

If removing belt and by looks of idlers etc may be wise to consider new belt, idlers and with age in this case oil pump and water pump.

Re: Crankshaft

might not come off that easy john....
looks like it may be seized on!!!
good luck with it!!

Re: Crankshaft

yeah was thinking that alright :icon_cry: it looks welded on to it thats why i was confused if it was part of the shaft or not
hopefully all will go well when i go to take it off

Re: Crankshaft

by the look of the pic it is!! now you said it!! because there's no key way on the shaft to stop the gear pulley from turning....

Re: Crankshaft

have her sorted out now
thought old one was seized on but just slide off when the timing belt was removed
crank wasn't damaged  just the woodruff key
have all new bits on now (huge thanks to Davelegacy for sorting me out with the parts) and she running great :subaru:
