Middle Lane Hogs
looking for any information on how hard /easy it is to switch over a completely well worn suspension on my classic to a set of bc coilovers .
would it be a garage job or could it be a job done by myself over a weekend maybe ?
is there any specialist tools needed.
any info greatly appreciated

cheers

james

You could do it yourself. Two bolts and three nuts on each thats all. Take out the back seats to get to the nuts on the rear struts. If your not confident get someone to do it tough. The classic rear break lines are fitted through the back struts though so if you plan on selling the classic struts on then you'll have to remove the lines first but if your binning them the cut the mettle bracket that they fit into and remove them that way.

You will ave to get them set up correctly though. Alinement, camber ect.

Ill be taking my coilovers out tomorrow and putting in standard suspension for a period of time!!!

Spring Clamps, 19mm Socket and Spanner will be needed
12mm spanner/ socket also needed (for top mounts)

Easy enough job to be honest.... tho fairly time consuming if your not 100% sure of what your doing.....
You will need to find a way to get the break lines free.....

there are 2 ways to do this........
cutting the strut (little square spot)
or taking break lines off the calipers......

there is a quide on here somewhere that i read before doing it the first time myself!

thanks for the replies lads
wouldnt be 100 percent sure on what im doing. i have most the tools though and just got an offer from a good member to come down to help me when i pick them up. thanks mate

No need for spring clamps. He's not replacing the springs. He's removing the whole lot.
