Coolant question

Is Subaru finicky when it comes to coolant? Would you have to use genuine Subaru product when the change comes?

No, you can use any coolant or anti-freeze mix, personally I use and recommend Motul Inugel Expert. Its great stuff and you don't dilute it although I've seen it done, this reduced the boiling point so is a waste of time IMO.

They are prone to air locks when you drain the coolant so be sure you run it for a few mins (Until the bottom rad hose is hot) after you fill her up, leave the rad cap off to let the air escape. Then knock off the engine and top up the system. job done
