Panel Filter

Aaron

Petrolheads
I just opened my airbox just to have a look inside and there is just a standard bright red panel filter in there and all lovely and clean..

I read about people putting an aftermarket panel filter in instead.

Should i put an aftermarket panel filter in too?
If so, what one?
will i gain anything from it?
would you get any extra sound from it?
wil i use more petrol after adding a aftermarket one?
and finally, is there a trader on the site who can post me one that suits my car?
or anyone selling a good 2nd one too what ever ye recommend i should do really.

sorry for all the questions :icon_redface:

You don't make any gains really from them but used with other mods they can help with air flow when mapping your car.

Most of the traders stock them and their not dear so get a new one not a scond hand one.

Loads of different makes available and most are pritty much the same.

Most of the traders here sell them.

Heres a few links to them.

Thx eric - just rang Dave there, left a mgs for him..
im sure he can tell me what to do!

thx!

Hi Aaron yep got your voicemail. Throw me a text there now..

One thing to keep in Mind is that the Cosworth ones are an alternative to factory ordinary ones. I.e. they are throw away and should be changed at normal service intervals so technically a better flowing oem upgrade choice at service time. They are not for life filters same as K&N are. We have both so choice with yourself.

Thanx

DAVE

Sorry for the questions, but is actually worth upgrading to one of these?

I think i would go the the cosworth as i heard the oil in the K&N can cause problems with the sensor.

i hear green cotton filters are good too, could you get them? are they dry or oil?

K&N will not cause problems with MAF.

If not mapping or anything for price etc stay genuine Subaru...

Thx Dave that is what i wanted to know.. i will not be doing any mapping.. so i will leave best alone..

thx for the advise.
