Is factory 15k km pushing it or grand? How often would you change oil/filter and air filter?

every 10km be more appropriate... Subaru were under pressure to increase service times due to longer ones from other makers. Although i think 15km is too long.

cheers lads, i would also feel that 5-10k km would be spot on without going ott and throwing out money unnecesarilly. i am of an old school of giving a car a service twice a year anyway (for the winter and for the summer kinda way), which works out less than 10k.

one more wee thing, the factory manual says that the spark plugs are to be kept for 100k km (NKG ILFR6B). feels kind of long. would you change these more often, any point?

30k miles/2.5-3 yrs

just a follow up from the previous: would MOTUL - Gear 300 Oil 75W90 be good for MY07 Forester NA, for both gearbox and rear diff? it should take ~4l for the gearbox and~1l for the rear?

Yes,

Subaru recommend GL-5 (75W-90) or equivalent.

5speed box is 3.5 litres
6speed box is 4.1 litres

Rear diff is 0.9 to 1.1 litres
