Spring rates for Sti Forester

forester sti

Lads the origonal springs on the forester sti are front 298mm high and 34N/mm and rear 336mm high and 29N/mm. I fitted whiteline springs that are a bit to hard for my 21 month old baby (regular passenger) so I've found a softer set made by tein but the spring rates look odd! as in the rears are stiffer than the front  eg.
I now have the N/mm figures for you for SKS50-S1B00 (S-Tech for SG5).(and SG9 sti)

Front spring characteristics:
Free height 274mm +/- 10%
Spring rate 29.4N/mm

Rear spring characteristics
Free height 325mm +/- 10%
Spring rate 35.3N/mm

What do you's think??

Dan,

The spring rates are always stiffer in the rear of a Forrester as it has self leveling suspension at the rear and they are designed to take heavier loads than normal.

I got that from Scruff so if it's bull sheet you can blame him!

Thanks lads,
I'm going to order the front tein springs so I'll have tein fronts with 29N/mm and whiteline rears with 18-27N/mm!
I'll let you know how I get on
Dan
