drive shaft question

lads quick question my front passenger drive shaft has been nackered since i got the car the question is would the drivers side shaft be the same. Cos i collected my new gear box today and got a free drivers side shaft with it. It looks exact same as passenger one ie same length and same cv joints and same ends . Its a 96 wrx v limited. Just dont wanna fit the shaft to passengers side if its gonna break or break something else thanks for any answers lads

pretty sure they are identical.. and switchable
