Fluctuating idle

I noticed that when my WRX is after heating up and sitting in idle, the revs seem to fluctuate a bit (they will sit steady, then drop a bit and then go up a bit and sit back steady again).........is this a sign of anything wrong with the engine?
 
yup revs will adjust when the fan comes on and off.. mine does it too once the fan kicks in revs ill go up and down about 100-200 or so - when it goes off revs are level again.

how much is jumpin up and down to?
 
It's just jumpin up and down by 100-200 revs.

Was just wondering if i was normal as I have never noticed it in any other car I have had? (maybe I am just being paranoid!)
 
Wouldn't worry as long as normal idle is around 7-800rpm... The revs will also go up and down if you turn on the air con, radio or anything else inside the car, also when the rad fans come on too.. The revs will adjust based on the power requirment from the car :thumbsup:
 
new car, new things, new worries... im getting use it myself!

dont worry about it, as i said its the same with mine and normal :thumbsup:

now go drive that :subaru: with one less worry :icon_biggrin:
 
You might have a cracked vacuum pipe somewhere, had the same problem myself but mine was a bit more than 100-200 revs :lol:
