Turbo in Wrx

Well Lads,

Mate of mine is driving a 03 wrx ....
He was driving it today and all of a sudden there was no power, He described it as driving a 1.6 all over again, there was no dumpvalve either going off,

Any Ideas

smoke out the exhaust?

Check the boost solinoid and the pipes going to the turbo

No Smoke man...

Checked and cleaned all pipes , Still no budge...

If there is a good bit of oil in the intercooler,
That is a sign of turbo failure!
No smoke out of the exhaust is a good thing!
She may well have gotten a mouth full of sh*t petrol and gone into "limp mode" she'd be flat as a pancake!
She needs to be plugged in and reset!
I don't think it's an easy job at all to gain access to the compressor wheel to see if she is spinning freely, so not an option,
If she doesn't have a boost gauge, then borrow one and fit it with a t piece to a pipe off the manifold, and a long enough pipe to reach inside while driving, see if she is making any boost, if she is just making vaccum all the time, then she is seized up or blocked!
then it's time for a turbo upgrade!

I have a 03 wrx turbo sitting here waiting for you,,,, all clean and in ready to go if needed,,, its been a paperweight to long.. and cash needed for new project
