Lads would I be right in saying there has never been a classic 1.6 gl in a rwd configuration? My mates brother is insistant he has one but Im sure they just don't exist!!!

Youre right-no such thing-and I doubt a conversion has been done-on a 1.6 its way too much work from a fwd to rwd

Closest he'll come to RWD in it is by sticking a couple of trays he's picked up in the local Burger King under the rear wheels and hoping for the best!!

no subaru was rwd but herd befour somewhere on one of the 4x4 models on the impreza all ya had ta do was remove a fuse under the bonnet and it became fwd :dontknow: dont know how true this is....

Practically speaking,
How would it be converted??
I'm thinking remove the front prop shafts, and a few choice welds in the center dif??
Dan

I doubt that rally car is using the 1600 subaru engine-wouldnt make any sense, seriously lacking grunt regardless of whats done.
