Cutting dashboard fascia

Speedway

Sunday Drivers
Hey everyone,

I fitted a Parrot RKi8400 (http://www.parrot.com/uk/products/hands-free-car-kits/parrot-rki8400) to a 2006 impreza rx last week.

The front of the radio was too wide for the dashboard fascia so I had to trim the inside edge of on both sides.
The radio fits fine now but some of the trimming is visible and I would love to cover it up if possible.

Does anybody have any ideas for something I could use to cover the trimmed sections or alternatively is there any after-market fascia that can be fitted to take a wider radio?

Thanks in advance!

interesting head unit ,

Maybe stick up a picture of the problem area mate , be easier to see what your having issue's with ,

Sorry lads should have included photos. You can see on the right and left where I had to trim the plastic

Ya I was thinking of just doing that alright. I've been searching online for the part number for the centre fascia and I can't find it.
Does anybody happen to have one or know where I could look it up?

i'd be inclined to say replace the panel , dont think that will ever look right again ,

the main problem is the head unit isnt the standard din size , maybe have a look for an adapter plate or a radio surround to cover up the gap

Sorry... tend to agree... nothing will make it look right if you try patch up sides!

Thanks for the replies lads.
I've ordered a replacement part and for the moment I'll see what I can do to patch up the holes.

Its a tricky enough number. McGyver time.

If you have the patience and time, some plastic perspex
and some silicone and some tidy drilling and cutting with Dremel drill.

Maybe use your orginal holder as a template. Also fiberglass, primer and
sand paper and a black spray to finish it off.
Because what your making is not standard.

Just my idea's now.
