Gojonny you should do what the woman in pic 3 (biggerstaff pic) is doing, stick the fingers in the ears. Seriously though what does she expect when she's standing next to the startline with WRC cars everywhere!

Nice pic of my motor , just trying to work out what stage that was - end of Mongorry perhaps ? I had a good chat Friday evening with the guy doing Road Closed in the grey Legacy Turbo , he'll hopefully join the ISDC soon . Do you know him Johnny ?

I had a ball over the weekend . The crowds were that big it would've been very difficult to jump between stages . The 'entertainers' ie the RWD stuff were spread throughout the field so you were just as well watching all the cars go through . Being a marshall of course meant you had the best view in the house . Best of all the whole weekend only cost me my petrol money as food & lodging was provided by the motor club .

I was at a great spot on Sunday on Atlantic Drive ( Junction 9 ) where the cars came down a twisty section past us & then up the other side of the mountain . It was interesting watching Loeb going through as he hardly lifted through the whole section , just left foot braking to steady the car on the bends . Then before the second run one of the chief marshalls came round to move me to a different part of the stage . He was also escorting a bus & another 2 marshalls in a BMW through the stage . I took my time getting into the car & let the convoy up the other side of the mountain before I set off . This meant that I had a unrestricted run for about a mile of the stage . :D I had a good blast up the stage , trying to ignore the knocklink flashing at me , though I wasn't brave enough to try left foot braking . :p

We dropped off the bus at the top of the stage - awesome view from there BTW . Then we headed off down the stage . The marshall said he wasn't going to cross 60 mph . He didn't mention that meant 60 mph on the corners in his 306 diesel ! He was leaving the BMW & myself behind when we were slowing for the corners ! It's a scary piece of road when you don't know it .

Overall I had great craic with the other marshalls . Met a bunch of Cork lads on Sunday morning , the slagging was good . I was on Atlantic Drive with guys from Cookstown motor club , haven't laughed as much in ages . Looking forward to the next event - anything coming soon Johnny ?

Donegal is the best one to marshal at, they really look after the lads, all the stages you were on turbo i was on the starts, the pic of your car was at the start.

Donegal is the only one i do timekeeper at, the rest I am on rescue mainly up north & scotland, Now i know that radio comms are always needing ppl, if your interested i can put you in touch with them, they look after the communications and train everyone, so dont worry about not knowing what to do.

Well lads for you lot that cud'nt be bothered ya all missed a great weekend and im sure turbo will agree, roll on next year :headbanger:

Hey Johnny,
looks like ye had good time, fair play

If you get a chance some evening you might spend a couple of hours
trying to teach Derek how to correctly Execute a parallel parking manoeuvre

Guess I'd be better learning from Johnny . Parallel parking in Cork means lining up the sheep side by side on a Saturday night . :nana:
