Engine turned off while driving. Sorted

I need your advice lads. I was driving 03 WRX on the third gear at about 4-5rpm and then the engine shout itself down. there was no noise just turned off. the heat was ok too, no engine light before. its about 50k miles on it but timing belt was not done. Can it be the case? or something else?

Anybody near city center that can have a look would be also appreciated?

what happens if you try turn it over again?
surely there was some lights on the dash when it turned off???

Frighten stuff. could be any number of reasons.
Have you check all the connections on the cars battery,
maybe the crank sensor could do with a clean.
Strange there's no C.E.L coming up on your dash.

nothing happens when you try to turn it on. Just starter is working.
when it turned off there were usual lights check like engine, oil and battery lights. they all stay on when you turn your key on

I have checked all the connections on the cars battery, everything is fine.
I don't know where the crank sensor is and how to clean it so will leave it for somebody how knows the stuff
whats CEL? something Engine Light? if so it is on

CHECK engine light.

Does the fuel pump prime when you turn the key?

have to check the fuel pump. I was low on petrol but the fuel light was not on at that time when engine turned off. When we towed the car back to my house the fuel light was on. I will try to put some petrol in it but don't think thats the case. I was driving it with much less petrol in a tank before.

When you say its just the starter workin!!!! Is it working normally or does it just spin without the engine turning over trying to start?

Where ya from? maybe 1 of us could have a look?

If you not getting the primer nosie from the fuel pump I'd start By looking at that :comp26:

I am getting CEL and oil light. But I have checked oil before and it was ok.

The car is trying to turn over but no luck

had a friend mechanic today. He said that there is no power coming to fuel pump. we checked all fuses. any ideas?

Sorry to hear of your troubles Stan hope you get her sorted soon, unfortunately I dont know much about mechanics so I can't help you.

no worries Anto, I hope somebody can help me as I am really bad in this stuff too

I am not 100% sure if it is under the bonnet in the fuse box. There is main relay there alright but not the fuel pump relay. I think it should be somewhere under the dash board. thats where classic's one is.

it should be behind a kick plate under the glove box on the passenger side

and i think its the green connector, as theres three relays under there, one is the main one and another one
