b4 flash codes

hi lads, I purchased a B4 that i talked about buying in another thread
The lad had it plugged in and was told it was a lambda sensor, so before
i go buying a new sensor just wanted to know is it lambda.
on idle the car is up and down on the revs, and drinking the juice, car driving perfect,
any info would be greatfully appreicated.

Sounds like it could be alright, that or the MAF. If you look under the dash on the left of the steering wheel, there are 2 black and 2 green connectors.. connect green to green and black to black... Then turn on the ignition (don't turn the engine on)... The car goes into test mode then.. On the dash the check engine light will be flashing, a long flash signifies a 10 and a short flash equals a 1. So if you have 2 long and 3 short, the number is 23...

plugged in two connectors, alot of clicking and humming coming from car but no flashes

Only connect the black one's and check again, the green ones afaik are for resetting the ecu
