SLIGHT KNOCK IN ENGINE

HEY NEW TO THIS SITE BUT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY 97 STI.WHEN YOU REV IT UP TO 2,500 REVS OR MORE YOU HEAR A KNOCKING SOUND ANYWAY CAN GET RID OF THIS.S

Best way to get rid of this knock is to rebuild the engine because it sounds like your big end is on it's death bed

TUK IT 2 THE NCT CENTER SOUND GOING IN THERE BUT COMING OUT HAD A BIT OF A KNOCK.BE CHEAPER 2 BUY A NEW ENGINE ALL TOGETHER WOULD IT NOT?

I may be wrong but that's the rev range my bottom end started to rattle

best of bringing it to a Subaru specialist for a proper answer, if you check out the traders section on here and give one of them a shout

THINK ILL GET A NEW ENGINE 4 IT PASSED EVERYTHIN 4 THE NCT JUST THE CO2 SPENT 25MINS REVING IT,AND THEN WHEN I GOT IN 2 IT 2 GO HME IT START KNOCKING

When my bottom end went on my 98 forester, I found that if I just gently revved her up around that 2500-3000 revs, she went clattery clattery clatter!!!
As above, check with some of our traders to confirm the issue and price up rebuilding your own motor with with forged bits, Maybe even a 2.1 stroker!!
OR a brand new 2L or 2.5L sti motor!
Either way she'll be stronger that a classic sti motor
