18" tyre options

Would you be able to get away with 235/40/18 on a 18 x 7.5 inch wheel? or would it be too wide?

also what would be best tyre size for 18 x 8"?

both options i dont want the hassle of having to roll arches or any of that hassle

Cheers

TBH Dan I think you'd be doing well to get a 225 on to a 7.5" wide wheel, no chance of getting a 235 on a 7.5"

18" x 8" i'd go with 225/40/18 or 225/45/18 (but dunno if the 225/45 will fit without rubbing)

Well that's your only fault tommy for goin 225/45! plenty of lads doing 235/40/18 with US legacys. Trying to find some rota gravel 18 x 8 inch. Recommended minimum is 225/40. How does offset affect tyre choice?

Offset can effect tyre choice by causing wider tyres to rub the arches, at least you dont have to worry about the offset to clear your brakes

Dan,
I have 235/40/18 on 18 X 7.5" wheels, They fit rims grand and line up well!
I also have 235/45/18 on 18 X8" wheels,
I use 20mm bolt on spacers with the 7.5"s, just to fill the arches, no rubbing issues!
You are very welcome to try on if you are around Naas anytime man!

But his car wouldn't manage the same offroad tyres that fit your jeep

I imagen he may be pushing it with the 235/45's alright!
But the 235/40/18s on the 7.5" rim is exactly what he asked for in the origonal post!
Oh, and Phil, :hjtwofinger: :1poke:

right Dan ill be down to ya tomorrow for bacon and sausage sandwich and a fit of your wheels!

Seriously might be down that way tomorrow if i am i might give you a shout! :icon_biggrin:

The Rota Gravel only came as 18 x 8.5( which require rolling of the rear arches, and are a really aggressive setup on the Legacy) in the US they are the rip off of the JDM STI Enkei's. Then enough of the yanks rebelled and Rota made a more LGT friendly fitment of 18 x 8. Sent a few mails out to some UK suppliers to see which they can get 18 x 7.5 would do me and i would try stick 235/40/18's on them and i would be happy!

Here's the 3 colors the offer them in gun metallic, hyper black and hyper silver

I know they are very similar to what i have on already but just think they are a bit less common and modern looking than the GRA's i have on at the minute. An extra inch makes the difference!
