Hi guys,

I had a look in the technical and servicing sections first but couldn't see this.

I'm gona change the T-belt in my 03 jdm sti, as its got 45000kms and not been done before. So at 7 years old i say better safe than sorry.

Would you insist on putting back a genuine subaru T-belt an pullies or would spurious be just as good or better?
Also the general consensus on oil filters is to get a genuine one also? Would you agree?

Cheers

id go with genuine belt and tensioner and spurious pulleys,

have you done a subaru belt before? its not the easiest been very long.

Not done a subaru one before.
But have a friend who has that will be helping me.

Done a few VW ones, pigs.

The sti has marks on the pullys that are easy lined up once there's 2 people to hold them I believe.

Any suggestions on where would be best to get the genuine belt an tensioner?

Cheers

As above, Genuine Belt and Tensioner, and spurious idler pulleys.

Get them either from Subaru, or you can try the traders and see if they can get them cheaper :dontknow:

Genuine oil filter is a must, a spurious halfords filter will actually cost you more (even with a trade card) its a joke
