Babyoil to bring up a shine

Yeah i know, sounds wierd to me too, but seen a car parked outside the local and twas pretty dam shiney, found out off my mate who works there that the owner uses babyoil to get the shine on it, has being doing it for years, anyone else ever heard of using babyoil??? :ponder2: :ponder2:
 
on the paint? Heard of lads using ground nut oil and peanut butter to bring a shine back to worn plastics but never baby oil
 
Heard of it been done all right , wouldnt imagine it looks great after a spot of shitty irish weather
 
Surely that can't be good for paintwork?? Fair enough using it on exhausts and the likes but not on paint. Plenty of decently priced and reviewed waxes and polishes to do same job.
 
I know,i thought it was a wind up but my mate was dead serious, must try it out onv the exhaust and see if it works
