Opening a Bugeye Headlight

Just wondering if anyone here has ever opened a Bugeye Headlight.
The motor rod on my projector HID lamp is displaced and I reckon I'm gonna have to open her up.
If its not to difficult I might do both sides to clean the lenses in the dishwasher.

Cheers, P.

Ive read of people that have de-tangoed their bugs have stuck the headlights in the oven for 15-20 mins so the sealant softens up and you can take them apart, Id love to do mine but Im just afraid to put them in an oven.

Yeah I'd be a bit worried about putting them in the oven.
Equally I'm thinking that if there was a solvent that would loosen up the seal that it might wreck the lens as well - eg as a kid I've seen what vinyl thinners does to a plastic bottle when I was robbin some from my Da's workshop for the bonfire at Halloween :icon_biggrin:

Cheers, P.

Think I might have found the answer - us a heat gun.
I have one that I used to fix the YLOD on my son's PS3.
Now all I have to do is find out where to get the rubber sealant to put it back together.

Cheers, P
