Single turbo legacy maf question?

Hey Lads,
just wondering if anyone can shed some light on this for me, the car is a 1994 legacy single turbo and I think my air flow meter is in a bit of bother car is spluttering on low rev, espically just after starting and the idle can go up and down from 500rpm to 1200rpm, only sometimes, car is running perfect most of the time, but cant depend on it, as dont know when this will happen.

Anyway the maf on it is a blue label one, and was wondering if anyone else with a single turbo legacy could check if their MAF is green or blue, know a fella with a legacy rally car that has a green one on this

going to get a loan of a green one today and see if that sorts me out, dont know what the blue MAF is out of, was on the car when i bought it.
