Hello bubbles, welcome to the forum. I'm moving your topic to Technical Q&A...

Without more information on your problems it's very hard to pinpoint/diagnose a solution :dunno:

Hey bubbles welcome aboard ,
If she's backfiring then she's running rich, over
fuelling .

As for cutting out ???
What mod's if any..... or any changes to engine set up ??

I had to replace my battery recenlty, car just went dead at idle or when slowing down !!!
might be that.

Niall.

alright thanks
it doesnt have any mods, some times at idle it dies but mostly when im slowing down.

is the backfireing bad for the car???

and the odd time the check engine light comes on but then goes back off?!?

can you help me any futher?

hi

mine backfired alot when ya lifted off and cut out once.it stopped when i got it mapped.used ta love it :D but thinkin back it is probably very bad for the life of ur turbo n manifold

Bubbles check engine light coming on and off normally means
a faulty sensor !! As Alan said check Maf , then maybe Lamda.
But more importantly did you get your car re-mapped to run on
our shitty Irish fuel ??????

Niall.

nice one no never got it remapped its only
in from japan a couple of months were would be
the best place to get it remapped and how much does it cost roughly
and whats a maf sorry dont know alot about cars
thanks for the help lads

the cutting out could be your idle control valve. happened on my leggy. would cut out occasionally at the lights etc. but the revs would always dip very low.

Hey Bubbles Contact Damien AKA Renno (Street Performance)
He's a club sponsor and in the traders section . He organizes mapping
days every couple of months.

There's loads of info on this site as to why you should get a re-map
use the search bar at the top of this page.

MAF sensor is the Mass Air Flow sensor..............but to make it easier
you could call to a Subaru Main dealer and get a diagnostic check on the engine
cost €50...............basically they hook you up tp a computer and tell you what
senosrs faulty etc.........maybe none  :dunno:

Niall.

ok thanks just fixed it the speedo cable was out cause last week i was takin out the
abs bulb and could not get the cable back in so just left it i put it back in
today and the car is running perfect a bit strange though it stopped
back firing aswell thanks for all the help

could this be a symptom of the coil packs going? i know this happened with my pulsar and i changed the plugs leads and it was fine
