Is there anyway at all to improve performance in a 1.6 Impreza (classic),chipping etc?And does anyone know is it possible to drop a turbo into one or has it been done?Please dont tell me to save up and buy a WRX.Thanks!
 
Save up and buy a WRX :D Would be ALOT cheaper then trying to Turbo a 1.6
 
The best you can do is improve the handling, there aren't many manufacturers that make 'go faster' bits for 1.6s. You can get induction kits for 2.0 Sports/GLs but not 1.6.

well there is a guy who works for TBF Thompson in Mallusk out side Belfats who has actually dropped a turbo into a 16 scooby, will get more details about it.......
 
The body of the 1.6 is nt strenghtened enough to take the 2.0 engine ,i looked into this before i bought my turbo cause i had spent a fortune doin up my old 1.6 as well as that you d be puttin front tyres on the car every 2 weeks .So unless you have shares in Bridgestone.....
