diff control

well lads, a mate just brought in a 96 sti type ra from england and the diff control is not lightin up on the dash, eveyting is pluged in but no difference when rolled foward or back, what else should he check. it could be different gearbox,how would u check :subaru:
 
i dont no why he didnt check it on the test drive, is there a fuse for it if so where? checkd wires and changed switch but no luck
 
The best way to fined out is find the gearbox number and check that if its the wrong code wrong box ,some of the early RAs
ran the same rear diff and short ratio box with out dccd.
