catagory 1 alarm

lads i just found out there was a catagory 1suburu alarm installed on the car but was diconnected. it's the alarm with the keypad under the steering wheel. i have the car 2 years now and obviously dont no the 4 digit code for the over ride of the car if it ever immobilses. does any1 know if i can get this reset to a new code of my choice without having the original code? i was onto C&R where i bought the car but they said they have no record of a code because it's an after sale extra on the car?

Without knowing what make/model the alarm is it hard to be sure but I'd be 99% sure you can't change the code without knowing it (or having special software). If the alarm is not hooked up then it could be faulty So I'd leave it alone, remove it and have a new (or second hand) Cat 1 alarm installed
