Subaru Impreza WRX For Breaking

Are you hearing any rattling or knocking gretts? May not be bottom end at all. With the blue smoke being your main concern i'd be checking your turbo first.

Theres a thread about the 2.5 block from ECC
Get onto Dave in Sti Tuning and Nick in Corture.... Im sure they would be able to give u decent prices man.....
Maybe even some of the other traders could be able to price it for ya too???

[/quote]thanks hammie

I've a standard Subaru EJ257 short block in my yoke and as Robbie said they are about €1800 plus headgaskets and fitting but are well worth it, they can deal with 380 to 400 BHP no bother.

All the EJ20 parts like heads, sump, water pump, oil pump, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, starter etc. will all bolt straight on so no hassle there.

Ring Subaru yourself and price one up, ya might even get the 10% isdc discount on it

Engine

If you give dave legacy a call from sti tuning, he has a camera that you can look into they cylinders by removing the spark plugs. That should be able to tell you if your rings are gone causing you to burn oil as you'll be able to see wet oil on the top of the piston.

thats what he did with mine , and saw i had melted a piston which was causing mine to be blowing smoke intermittently, and going through a hell of a lot of oil ....
