McRae Memorial Convoy

Ok folks.....

The McRae Memorial Run will take place on sunday the 20th September 2009....

As opposed to the lap of the 6 counties that was done the first year, this year we are going to "Rock the Lough" with a convoy of scoobs starting in Sprucefield, then heading via Belfast to Antrim...then onto Scubbays in Toome, then via Coagh (photoshoot on the main st for Total Impreza Magazine), and onto Cookstown, Dungannon and then back to Sprucefield along the M1.....

Convoy times will be hosted closer to the time, and meeting points, refreshment stops and lunch breaks will as usual be built into the schedule....this will be a memorial convoy and as such anyone looking for a print event should look elsewhere

Guys this is a first draft of the approximate timings for this event, details are being finalised at present as there are a few things to factor in to the drive !!

The days first timings are basically set in stone from Sprucefield to Antrim and onto Scubbays....I am trying to get the filling station there opened specially for us...but failing that, its as good a place to regroup and reorganise the cars as any with ample parking available......

Coagh photoshoot is causing a few drama's as the main st only hold about 30 or so cars and as such not everyones car could be included...taking up both sides of the st would sort this but be a nightmare for locals who may complain .....it may be decided to have a few pics taken as the convoy rolls through, or a video of same ??

Looking for ideas from those from the Cookstown directionas to where to park up for lunch...need a BIG car park to keep all the cars together and in formation as best as possible...SUGGESTIONS????????????????????????

Decided to end the run at Portadown on the sunday night, early evening as an option for those of you who have never been able to make it to Portadown, and to thank the Portadown guys who make the journey to every weeekly meet...car park is a good size and theres a McD's for the drivers LOL
 
I would off loving to go tomorrow only for im working :icon_cry: 83+ scoobys would be unreal :icon_grin: hope some 1 gets a good couple off pictures tomorrow and post them up :icon_surprised:
