td05 turbo question......

a mate of mine changed his td04 turbo in his classic wrx today for a td05 and what i was wondering is there much of a difference between the two and is he goin to damage the car by not mapping it? the car is pretty much standard apart from a dump valve and back box.....cheers......
 
its a fairly standard 95 jdm wrx, just a dump valve and back box on it.....
 
oh hes not goin to like it when he hears that :lol: there was a td04 fitted to it when he got it....well it says td04 on it anyway....
 
yeah side entry turbo and it had td04 stamped on it, could the housing have being changed on it?
 
it could be coz he bought the car up north and hes the fourth owner since it was brought in.....cheers for info dave :thumbsup:
