The Cost of rebuilding the powersteering pump 2004 Legacy

What is the Cost of rebuilding the powersteering pump or buying a new one im nearly sure that what is wrong as i changed the belt and there is still a whine out of it and steering becomes dangerous out of blue is very hard to turn then it be grand a second later

did u try flush the fluid from the system and put in new stuff?

I had a whining noise from my power steering as well and it turned out it was air locked. I just took the power steering fluid cap off, sat on the spot for a few mins, turning the steering wheel all the way to the left then all the way to the right. Top up if necessary...

That worked for me.
