lads was just wondering about these things
what are the advantages and disadvantages of putting one of these on the car
can i also do damage if boost is set too high :ponder2:

any help would be great

john

put one them in and kiss good bye to your rings...... :wall:

a few years ago alot of my friends fitted them and got professionals to fit it and they all wanked there engines mainly rings.. correct me if i wrong but but i would stay clear of them or any car with one in cos it probally turned up more than once...

Putting a boost controller without getting the mapped car is asking for trouble. You shoudl get the car mapped if you are going to mess around with the boost controller.

as said above get mapped.... but they can be a good mod as you can run higher boost mid-range and then taper it off higher in the revs for safety as far as i know

Have one in my yoke and i just leave well alone, was in it before the brother LegyC bought it and he tryed it once with very bad results. So he just put it back to the setting and left it at that

there was one fitted to my rs when i bought it and i whipped it out straight away.....heard a few horror stories about fellas messing around with um and fryin there engines within a few hours :shock2:

thanks lads
just clarifying what i already thought

couldnt be good

didnt think there was any advantages of mapping a uk turbo
just thought this was for getting the fueling right on jap cars

ya live and learn

first of all don't put an elec boost controller in as no need,,

The advantage of mapping yes is an advantage with custom ecu mapping...
