When car is warm and you stop at lights or something she will rev up to about 1200 /1500 rpms

once you give her a little rev she will drop back to normal rpms 800 or so

any ideas what this could be :dontknow:

If she's idling rough its most likely the maf but could be a number of other things too.

Do a fault code check & it should show up

The idle control valve may be a bit clogged and that's causing it to stay open leaving it at higher revs than normal.

Thats as long as the revs arent bouncing up and down, if its holding at a constant higher rpm, then its most likely the valve just sticking a bit open.

could be thousands of things mate....
From sticky valves to the way it was set by someone else.

Even down to as simple a problem as a slightly frayed accelerator cable catching inside its sheath

As Hammie says, could be a lot of things.

Similar happened me before and it was a sticky throttle body. Replaced it out and it was fine.

Best be it get someone in the know how to have a look at it and see if they can diagnose it. Can't really be done over the internet.

Sorry to thread jack im also having idle trouble some times when coming off the accelerator the revs drop to near stalling and are bouncing up and down then when I rev it the idle goes back to normal. Any ideas to my problem?
