im nearly sure the pcd of my spec c 2002 is 5x100 am i right? and what is the offset im buying brake discs from the states need to be sure

Yeah 5x100 Al.

Offset is specific to the wheel, wouldn't need to know that for brake discs.

For reference offset on Subarus are usually from 48 to 55

defo 5X100, off set should be 53mm i think
But to be sure, just inspect your rim carefully, it may say it on the outside, but it'll more than likely be stamped on the back of one of the spokes! my standard 7.5X18" silver wheels are 48mm offset
I beleive, the lower the offset, the more space you'll have,
Sure you could probably fit 20mm bolt on spacers with very little hassle
